Utica: The Last Refuge
Filmed in Utica, NY over a 2.5-year period, this documentary follows the Azein family – Sudanese refugees who work to find a new beginning in cold Upstate New York, where they know absolutely no one. This film is not only a testament to the obstacles that refugees face on a daily basis, but it also sheds light on the triumphs they experience as they adjust to a completely new way of life.
