Utica: The Last Refuge

Filmed in Utica, NY over a 2.5-year period, this documentary follows the Azein family – Sudanese refugees who work to find a new beginning in cold Upstate New York, where they know absolutely no one. This film is not only a testament to the obstacles that refugees face on a daily basis, but it also sheds light on the triumphs they experience as they adjust to a completely new way of life. This film teaches viewers valuable life lessons on determination, patience, and resilience. A must-watch for Utica-natives! 

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. This is a general admission event, meaning that there are no assigned seats at the time of the show. This event is presented by The Center in Utica, NY.
