The 6th Annual Utica Zombie Walk

The Utica Zombie Walk is an all-age, free event that allows participants to act out a simulated zombie invasion while also benefiting selected local charities. The cost of registration is free, but participants are asked to bring one non-perishable pet or human food item to the Zombie Walk whether you register online or just participate in the walk. Spectators are also encouraged to bring a food item. This year's charities are the Food Bank of Central New York and the Stevens-Swan Humane Society of Oneida County.

MAKE UP REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. If you have not registered for make up, you will need to arrive at the zombie walk with your make up already applied. You can still come and join the walk and all the activities with the exception of make up unless you have already registered. For questions regarding makeup please email rick@cnyhomepage.com.

The doors to the Stanley will open at 5 p.m. when make up will be started for everyone who registered online. Remember, you will need a food item for donation for each person getting make up done.

Live entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. with Jayne Dracula, a gothic horror rock black metal band hailing from Syracuse.

Also before the walk, a Zombie Zumba flash mob-with a Michael Jackson impersonator- will get the crowd ready for the walk in the lobby.

The Zombie Walk begins at 7 p.m. sharp. Participants will walk down Genesee Street, which will be closed off for a portion of the route. Be sure your costume allows you to see and walk comfortably. No realistic guns or dangerous weapons will be permitted.

After the zombie walk, the Utica's own glam rock band Wicked takes the stage.

The short film Zombies in Utica 2 will premiere after the Zombie Walk at The Stanley.

And that's not all! If you're a fan of the tv series Walking Dead, or if you just want to get on television in your zombie best, here's something you've gotta be part of – a Walking Dead promotional commercial shoot. The Walking Dead airs on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. on WPNY. We will get you on camera and record your performance for promotional commercials. Watch for them at various times and days on WPNY, WFXV33 and WUTR. Plus, some of them will be featured during the show.

For those 21 and older, a fully-themed zombie dance party begins at 9 p.m. at the Dev on Devereux Street, around the corner from the Stanley. Cost of admission is $5. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to this year's selected charities.

At the Stanley, in addition to the Zombie Walk and food drive, there will be live music from the glam rock band "Wicked," the premiere of the short film Zombies in Utica 2, and more.
